Hello Lovelies!
As promised, here is my review on
brushes which are the base makeup brushes by Real Techniques. You can get these
brushes online on Amazon or from your local drugstore store which in the UK
would be Boots or Superdrug. I do own other brushes from other lines, but I
always go back to Real Techniques because I personally feel that they are best
value for money on the market at that price point!
The first brush that I want to tell
you about is the Real Techniques Powder Brush, which is very large and very
fluffy, it can also apply powder all over in seconds – very good if you’re in a
rush! But because I have dry skin, I do not need to apply powder all over my
face. However, I do use this brush for brushing off my powder when I have baked
my face which is what I brought this brush for. In my opinion I would say buy
it if you want something for baking or for if you powder your face all over!
The second brush is actually from
the Real Techniques Core Collection Kit which I got on sale in Boots for £9.99
- you can buy this brush individually but if you see the kit for sale, I would
personally recommend buying it as most brushes retail between £7.99-£12.99 so
you are practically getting 4 brushes for the price of one!
This brush is called the Buffing
Brush which can be used for buffing in powder or liquid foundations. Now this
brush is my favourite brush along with the contour brush from this collection.
It applies foundation beautifully and you can also use it for pretty much any
face product including pressed powder, bronzer and blusher.
What makes this brush great is that
the brush is that it is firmly packed, which means it makes it easy to buff in
your makeup. Along with this it has a domed head which allows you to get into
all the nooks and crannies of your face. It is also very good for giving you
that full coverage look, and it is the brush that I use with my MAC Studio Sculpt
Foundation.
TIP:
When you are using this brush for foundation that you do dot the foundation
around your face rather than straight onto the brush as it is easier to buff
into your skin and to do it in small circular motions to blend out.
The third and final brush I am
reviewing today, is the contour brush. This is a brush which I got in the kit I
mentioned in the above review. Now I am in love with this brush and this is
why. This brush is soft and fluffy just like its sisters – and yes I just
called my brushes sisters. This is because they work so well all together so
they are a little family in my eyes! Anyways I normally use my contour brush
for either highlighter or blush as it’s not shaped to sculpt your face the way
other contour brushes are. However, the way that is it shaped allows you to
apply powder lightly to your face and can be used to blend out the harsher of
contour lines too!
Overall, I think that Real
Techniques offer some of the best drugstore brushes available right now, and
the kits are fantastic value for money too. I can also say that hand on heart have
never experienced any problems with this brand, not only do they wash well but
I have experienced little to no shedding and breaking which I have from other
brands.
I will be buying more from this
brand in the near future, and will post another review on them when I have
properly trailed and tested them for you.
